You won't walk in alone.
When you arrive, an adult leader will welcome your family and introduce your son to Scouts his age. Every visiting Scout is paired with an experienced Scout who can introduce him around, answer questions and make sure he feels part of the troop.

Questions families ask
Does my son need a uniform?
No. Come dressed comfortably. If Troop 826 is the right fit, we'll help with uniforms and encourage families to check the troop uniform closet before buying everything new.
Can parents stay?
Absolutely. Parents are encouraged to meet our leaders and families and see the program firsthand.
Do we need to RSVP?
No. Most Thursday nights you'll find us at VFW Post 9473. Check the public calendar before a first visit in case a service project or special activity replaces the normal meeting.
What if my son doesn't know anyone?
We'll introduce him to Scouts his age and make sure he has someone with him from the moment he arrives. He's also welcome to bring a friend.
Can we visit more than once?
Yes. Visit as many times as you need. We want families to make an informed choice and find the troop that fits them best.
