Troop 826 is a Scout-led boys’ troop rooted in Reynoldsburg. Scouts choose where to go, prepare together, lead their patrols and learn from what happens along the way. Adults keep the program safe and offer guidance—but the responsibility belongs to the Scouts.

Troop 826 began in 1996 with twelve Scouts and a simple idea: young people grow when they are trusted with meaningful responsibility and supported while they learn.
More than 300 Scouts have been part of that story, and 87 have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Those milestones matter. So do the quieter moments: a Scout cooking for his patrol, teaching a younger member, asking for help, recovering when a plan fails or realizing that other people are counting on him.
Each generation inherits traditions from the Scouts before them, then adds new adventures, new leadership and new stories of its own.
Scouts do more than participate. They help make it happen.
Leadership here is practical. It is learned in decisions, responsibilities and the everyday work of being part of a patrol.
Scouts lead
Scouts elect their youth leaders, run meetings, propose places to go, plan activities and take turns guiding their patrols.
Adults make room
Trained adults provide safety, coaching and perspective while giving Scouts room to solve problems and become capable.
Adventure gives purpose
Camping, hiking, paddling, summer camp and high adventure give Scouts real work to plan and real challenges to meet together.
Everyone is noticed
New Scouts receive help from those who have been there before. In a personal troop, every Scout has opportunities to contribute and lead.
Responsibility grows one experience at a time.
No single activity creates a leader. The same cycle of choosing, preparing, doing and learning gives Scouts repeated chances to grow.
VFW Post 9473 is more than our meeting place.
VFW Post 9473 has chartered Troop 826 since the beginning. That relationship connects generations of Scouts with examples of service, citizenship and commitment to something larger than themselves.
Scouts meet at the Post each Thursday and serve alongside veterans and neighbors through Memorial Day flags, VFW breakfasts, flag retirements, Eagle Scout projects and community events. Reynoldsburg supports its Scouts, and Troop 826 teaches Scouts to return that support through action.
