For nearly 30 years, Troop 826 Scouts have packed their own gear, cooked for their patrols, served Reynoldsburg, explored new places and learned to lead one another. We are a boys’ troop for ages 11–17 based at VFW Post 9473—and there is always another adventure on the calendar.

Scouts elect their leaders, propose future campsites, share Circle Up notes, plan meals and learn what to do when the original plan changes.
Leadership training

Four Troop 826 Scouts attended National Youth Leadership Training together—six days of team-building, problem-solving and practicing leadership skills they can bring home to their patrols.
A troop where every Scout matters
Active enough to go places. Personal enough to be known.
Troop 826 is active enough to camp regularly, attend summer camp and prepare for serious high-adventure trips. It is personal enough that Scouts know one another, new members are noticed, and leadership is something every Scout can actually do—not merely watch.
A Scout packs his own gear. He cooks for his patrol. He takes a turn leading. He helps a younger Scout. He solves problems when the plan changes and discovers that people are counting on him.
What a parent begins to notice
The growth comes home with them.
“When my son joined Troop 826 two years ago, I expected camping, merit badges and time outdoors. What I did not expect was how much he would grow. At 15, he is more active, more confident and becoming a leader. Watching that happen has been amazing.”
A first campout
A newer Scout expected it might be difficult to fit in. Instead, the troop welcomed him immediately. When the first campout felt challenging, other Scouts walked him through each step until he felt capable doing it himself.
That is how belonging becomes confidence.Adventure gets Scouts moving. Responsibility, friendship and opportunities to lead shape what they carry home.
Growing Scouts who serve their community
Reynoldsburg has been part of our story since 1996.
Troop 826 Scouts place more than 4,000 Memorial Day flags, complete Eagle Scout projects, conduct flag retirements and work alongside VFW Post 9473 and nearby Cub Scout packs.
They help at VFW breakfasts, participate in Reynoldsburg civic events, support conservation projects and learn that leadership includes showing up for other people. The community’s support gives Scouts room to grow; their service returns that investment through capable young people who know how to help.
