Your workplace may help your gift go farther.
Some employers let you give through payroll, match a personal donation, or support charities through an annual campaign. A few minutes in your employee portal can show you what is available.
Prepared October 18, 2026 · Program rules change; confirm current eligibility before submitting.
Troop 826’s support organization is the Troop 826 Alumni Association. Every employer and campaign has its own rules, so confirm the exact recipient and its eligibility before you submit a gift.
Start here
- Open your employer’s benefits or employee-giving portal. Search for “workplace giving,” “matching gifts,” “payroll giving” or “community impact.” If you cannot find it, ask HR or your campaign coordinator.
- Read the current program rules. Check who can participate, which nonprofits qualify, the match rate and annual limit, accepted payment methods, and the submission deadline. Ask whether gifts made outside the portal can be matched.
- Search for “Troop 826 Alumni Association.” Match the listing to the organization’s confirmed legal name and EIN. A national Scouting organization, local council or VFW listing is a different recipient; do not assume its gifts reach Troop 826.
- Follow the program’s giving or matching instructions. Keep the donation receipt, pledge confirmation and request number. If a match needs a separate request, submit it before the deadline and check its status.
Already donated? Your employer may accept a match request for a recent gift. Check its look-back period and receipt requirements before donating again.
Which kind of program do you have?
Payroll giving
You authorize an amount to come from your paycheck. Check whether the amount is per paycheck or a yearly total, when deductions start, and whether the pledge renews automatically. Payroll giving does not necessarily include an employer match.
Matching gifts
Your employer may add money to an eligible personal donation. Confirm whether the match is automatic or needs an application. Do not assume dues, camp fees, raffle tickets or purchases qualify; ask about your specific payment.
United Way or another workplace campaign
Use your employer’s current campaign directory and designation rules. Some programs allow donations to additional eligible nonprofits; others use a fixed list. Ask whether the Alumni Association can receive a designated gift and what identifier is required. A donation to a campaign’s general fund is not a designation to Troop 826.
Ohio and public-employer campaigns
State of Ohio employees
Start with the Ohio Combined Charitable Campaign and the current charity guide. Participating charities have campaign-specific codes. We have not confirmed a current CCC listing or code for the Alumni Association, so do not use another organization’s code. If it is missing, ask your agency coordinator about the process; future participation requires action by the nonprofit and a participating federation. Ohio CCC resources
Federal employees and retirees
The Combined Federal Campaign is a separate program with its own approved charity list and CFC codes. We have not confirmed a CFC listing for the Alumni Association. Only use a current listing that identifies the intended recipient. Nonprofit status alone does not establish CFC participation.
Other public employees
City, county, school district and other public employees should ask their own HR team or campaign coordinator which program applies.
Cannot find the Alumni Association?
Look for “Nominate a nonprofit,” “Add a cause” or a help link. Ask whether the program accepts nonprofit nominations and which details it needs. A nomination starts a review; it does not guarantee approval or immediate availability. If registration or official paperwork is required, send those requirements to the troop so an authorized Association representative can handle them. Benevity’s employee help explains one common nomination process.
When to contact the troop
Contact us when you need the Association’s confirmed EIN, current address, organization documents, donation acknowledgment, or a nonprofit representative to complete verification. Include your employer/program name, requested document or form, and deadline. Please do not send portal passwords, payroll records or payment details.
For portal access, missing receipts issued by the giving platform, or employer eligibility questions, start with HR or the platform’s support team.
