Goals of the Alumni Association
RAISING FUNDS
The Troop 826 Alumni Association is charged with the task of raising substantial funds each and every year.
These funds are used to offset the cost of purchasing and maintaining the assets of the Troop, financing program support activities, and underwriting the cost of various awards and recognition programs for the Troop.
The Alumni Association raises funds through various activities including:
Annual Membership Dues
Fall Funds Drive and United Way Pledge
Soliciting local business with funds for community activities
Soliciting individuals with known interests in supporting the Troop
ACTIVITIES, AWARDS, RECOGNITION
Each year Troop 826 provides active member scouts with opportunities to expand their scouting experience through training, ensure no scout family is left out of the scouting experience due to financial hardship, and recognizes the leadership of our Scouts, our Adult Volunteers, and Scouters.
None of this would be possible without the financial support of the Troop 826 Alumni Association.
Program Activities Include:
Financial Support to active member scouts whose families are experiencing financial hardship
Purchase of equipment and licensing for core activities like shooting sports and Honor Guard
Awards include:
Fully Paid Fees to attend National Youth Leadership Training Camp
Recognition includes:
Annual Troop 826 Alumni Association Honor Scout
Plaques and other honors for Adult Volunteers and Scouters who have served the Troop above and beyond
STAY CONNECTED
The Troop 826 Alumni Association Board believes deeply that the connections made by our scouts during their time in the Troop are truly some of most memorable of their youth. We believe that the experiences of the scouts last more than a lifetime.
As our troop has grown up, it has become increasing important to ensure those connections are not lost. We want to foster a connection with our former members, provide a place to connect, reminisce, and grow.
We want our past members to see the legacy of their troop grow and our current scouts to connect with our past.
We hope you will agree with us, that staying connected matters.
