Welcome to the Troop 826 Website. I am Bruce Bennett , Scoutmaster of the troop since 1999. I want to tell you about the troop program and invite you to visit with us if you are looking for a troop to join. Troop 826 was chartered by VFW Post 9473 of Reynoldsburg, Ohio , in August 1996.Since then we have grown to a troop of  85 active scouts. We average 55 to 65 scouts at the meetings. The troop is led by the boy leadership with assistance from the adult leaders.. The Patrol Leaders Council has set an active pace for the troop. We offer monthly tent camping year round. The coldest temperature we have camped in is three degrees, the deepest snow eighteen inches!!   We offer troop hikes of ten to twenty miles several times a year.   Patrols can also have their  own camp outs and outings. We participate every June in a week long summer camp program at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation in northeast Ohio. In July, we offer a second week of summer camp at Camp Friedlander near Cincinnati .  We offer high adventure trips every summer for scouts over 13.  We alternate between BSA's National High Adventure Bases. We go sailing in the Florida Keys at Seabase, hiking at Philmont Scout Ranch in the New Mexico mountains or canoeing in the Boundary Waters at Northern Tier in Minnesota . We have had fourteen scouts earn the National BSA Triple Crown Award given to scouts who go to all three adventure bases. We encourage participation in the National and World Jamborees and have had scouts attend both.  We have three ongoing community oriented service projects.

Our leadership is well trained.  The troop sends four to six scouts a year to council youth leader training programs such as Nagatamen and Eagle Feather. The adult leadership is also well trained. We have 32 registered leaders. Ten are Eagle Scouts. Two have been to Wood Badge. One has been to National Camping School. Five have been to Blackfoot.  One has been to Green Bar. Two have been to the Philmont Training Center. The fourteen Assistant Scoutmasters average seven years experience as an adult leader.  We have procured a truck, a troop trailer, five canoes and a canoe trailer, a signal cannon, two antique BSA bugles, and a kudu horn. We have enough tents, cook boxes, and dutch ovens for all the patrols to go camping. We meet every Wednesday from 7-8:30 at the VFW. If you are looking for a troop to join please stop by any time or email for more information.

Yours in Scouting,

Bruce Bennett
